Citizen Cope

Citizen Cope is probably one of the most interesting artists I am listening to right now. Look deeper into the seemingly one dimensional hip/hop style and swagger of Cope and you will find an urbanesque Bob Dylan. Stories of tragedy and hope in an inner city, urban landscape. These tunes are dipped rhythmically in many musical influences including reggae as Bob Marley appears to be an influence. The new album is called "The Clarence Greenwood Recordings". I saw him in Cleveland at the Grog shop and he kicks. If you want to see an extremely talented artist who is on the rise check him out at Headliners in Louisville this weekend.You won't be disappointed.
