Where you're from...

A while back I posted a fairly hilarious rant about peoples heritages. Well I havent responded yet with my actual background. While organizing my office (a task which failed miserably) I found a book which I have always held very dear. Its a history of the town I grew up in back in Germany. It covers the history of the town from its founding up through the early 90's. When was the town founded you ask?

Try 790.

Thats right this town is almost 1000 years older then the United States of America. The town doesnt boast any celebrities who were born there, or amazing landmarks which everyone must see. Its just a town on the road between Frankfurt to the south and Giessen to the north. But its the town which deep down I will always consider home. Its the only town my grandparents ever lived in. Its the town my mother was born in. Its the town where many of my uncles, aunts and cousins still call home.

So come check out the town of Nieder-Wollstadt.

For a small town in Germany it has a rather nice website. Even though its in German you should try clicking some of the links until you get the pictures section (HINT: click the Bilderbogen link).
