Pop Culture RoundUp

Howdy y'all! It's time for a heaping helping of pop culture victuals:

  • Katie Holmes bowing down before L. Ron Hubbard. You go girl! While you're at it, why don't you sign up to become a Jedi, drink some Kool-Aid, and wait for the comet to come and get you.
  • Any chance this fall of having music on MTV? I'm afraid not.
  • Halo movie deal in the works. I like the way Microsoft is handling this and not giving up creative control. That combined with a script penned by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, The Beach) makes me giddy with anticipation. It also looks like Alex and Danny Boyle are teaming up again for a Sci-Fi flick called Sunshine. Sounds promising. As I was laying in my parent's pool this weekend, I found myself pondering how much it would suck if the sun just fizzled out. I think we can all agree it would suck pretty bad.
  • When Pilots Go Wild.
  • World Naked Bike Ride 2005. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. Riding a bike isn't the most crotch-friendly activity a man can engage in. So why these guys are doing it in the buff is beyond me.
