New Blue Man Group Tour

This news is hot off the digital presses. I just refreshed my inbox and found this little gem:

HOW TO BE A MEGASTAR TOUR 2.0 ANNOUNCED!

Blue Man Group Hits The Road

We’re thrilled to announce that Blue Man Group is going back on the road this fall. Following up the critically acclaimed Complex Rock Tour which rolled through the United States and Canada in 2003, the How to be a Megastar Tour 2.0 kicks off in Reading, Pennsylvania on September 26th. Expanding on the "Rock Concert Manual" concept from The Complex Rock Tour, this time around, the Blue Men download a new "how-to-manual" that takes the audience through a uniquely clever and interactive show that guarantees to deliver hypnotic entertainment for all ages.

Exclusive Pre-Sale Information For You!

Although tickets go on sale to the public starting July 21st, subscribers of Blue Man Group’s email list will be sent a very special invitation to purchase premiere tickets before then. On July 17th, we’ll be sending subscribers the exclusive password and links that can be used for securing up to four of these premiere seats in every price range for every venue listed below.

The Blue Man Group fan pre-sale starts at 10am local time on July 18th and runs through midnight July 24, 2006 only. Premiere pre-sale seats are limited so make sure to be on the look out for the email on July 17th. We hope to see you on the road!

Tour dates and locations can be found here. I have spent at least a couple of hours trying to post the tour dates in this entry and it's just not happening people. I don't know if it's an issue with the way Blogger displays tables or what. All I know is that it creates about a page and a half of nothing before it shows the table. I've tried everything I can think of with the HTML and it just isn't working...so a link will have to do.

Anyway, my wife and I saw Blue Man Group in Chicago several years ago and were blown away. Their stage show is unlike anything I've ever witnessed. It was a synthesis of sights and sounds that is beyond description. The experience was tribal in nature. You really felt like you were plugged in to what was happening. Needless to say, it was fantastic and truly original in every sense of the word. Fast forward a couple of years and BMG is out on "The Complex Rock Tour". There were limited venues though and I ended up missing that show. Thank goodness for DVD. The performance was like their stage show made portable and fine-tuned for a mainstream audience. It went beyond being a simple concert yet remained accessible to the general populace. Of course, I am bias though.

A friend of mine saw the Blue Man Group in Vegas a while back and said it was awesome.

That's supposed to be their best show. The other productions are held in traditional theaters that get the job done but in Vegas they have more space and can crank it up to 11. Or so I hear anyway...

If you ever find yourself in Vegas, New York, Chicago, London, Toronto, or Berlin, I highly recommend catching their show. Even if you're not into plays and stage shows, give it a whirl.
