Aerial Photographer Focuses on Hawaiian Coastlines

This is a pretty nifty article. Brian Powers has taken it upon himself to photograph and catalog the Big Island's coastline. Having spent part of my honeymoon on the island, I can vouch for its "awesomeness". It's like something right out of The Twilight Zone, because there are areas that are lush, vibrant, and "beachy", but there are also parts that conjure up images of Mordor. If you ever find yourself in Hawaii, I highly recommend a trip to the Big Island. It's very driveable, the snorkeling there is superb, and Volcanoes National Park is unlike any other park in the world.

This is the hotel we stayed at on the island. Our room was on the right and had an awesome view of the water below, where sea turtles frolicked among the rocks. A lot of the coastline in our area was like this. Not exactly ideal for swimming like a lot of beaches but very good for snorkeling, if you get out far enough.
