News From The Comic Book Shop
So the word on the street is that Superman was a 2 star stinker at best. John, give us a review already! The hardcore dorks are saying that the title of the movie should have been "Lois Lane Angst". I've heard there's like 2 action scenes in the whole movie, and that it was basically a re-write of the first movie. I've also heard that they portray Lex Luthor as a bumbly, comical bad guy like he was in the first movie and NOT the criminal, sinister mastermind from the comics. Hopefully John's review will settle my nerves on this one.
In other comic news, Marvel's newest multi-title, mega super secret war, infinity crisis on infinate earth storyline - called Civil War this time around - is trudging right along. Once every other year or so, Marvel does something like this to kill a bunch of people off, change a few characters in hopes of improving sales figures and re-invent some of the weaker titles. The latest news is that Spiderman has now gone public with his identity. The rumor is that by the end of Civil War, either both Aunt May and/or Mary Jane will be killed due to this decision to go public. Supposedly Joe Quesada, Marvel's Editor in Chief, has it out for the Mary Jane character, saying she has made him too soft. It's his plans to return Spidey back to the lonely, confused, suffering character from the sixties.
Or course you realize none of this means a damned thing. Remember the Death of Superman? Remember when Bane broke Bruce Wayne's back and left him paralyzed? Anything can be undone. Just like in soap operas, where people can come back from the dead, get shot in the face, get burried alive and return from the grave...all before lunch with Granny, mainstream comics (and wrestling) is just as bad.

Get off my back monkey! When I see it tonight, I'll let you know what I thought. Your first mistake though was getting opinions from people in a comic shop. Their kind is notorious for hating all deviations from canon. I have my concerns about the movie but we'll see how things go. What clips I've seen give me great faith in Brandon's ability to portray the Man of Steel.
