ABC Hates Your DVR

The folks at ABC are working hard to disable the fast forward button on your DVR so that commercials can be seen in all their glory. Left Mouse Button Here

It's bad enough that they're still showing Dancing With the Stars and The Bachelor...now they're trying to take away our only defense against their cruddy programming.

If that happens I will boycott all ABC shows. Even Lost and Invasion both of which I love.

Screw you Disney if you think you can pull this crap on us.

My wife and I got DVR specifically for Lost and the damn thing cancels my scheduled recordings for Lost, everytime it comes on. It makes absolutely no sense, and I can only assume that someone at ABC is doing some kind of hocus pocus on the signal.

I wouldn't say we got DVR to avoid commercials, but it's definitely a nice bonus. We have been known to let a show run for about 18 minutes before we start watching it, just to avoid the commercials. That's right folks! There are approximately 18 minutes of commercials per hour. Just watch an episode of Lost or some other hour long show on DVD and you'll see what I mean.

I hope and pray that this kind of change can only happen through new hardware. If that's the case, Insight can have my DVR when they pry it from my cold dead hands.
