Got high-speed internet access and don't know what to do with it? Check out live concerts at DCN.com. Lots of bands you haven't heard yet, so why not jack into some really good live music?

Matt and I had a discussion at lunch yesterday and it reminded me of Barbelith, an underground webzine that spawned from discussion of Grant Morrison's award-winning comic book, The Invisibles. Perhaps the first comic book to be required collegiate reading in many pop-culture study programs throughout the states. If you read it, you'd know why.

Also, some great books here to add to your reading list and some other great blog sites.

"It looks
like
the Florida Attorney General's
office is closing
in
on the fraud-by-the-book
that is Miss Cleo,". "In
effort to 'learn the truth' about Miss
Cleo and her operation
, Florida's AG has subpoenaed her birth records and
business documents linking her to the telescam megacompany Access Resource
Services. ARS is involved in pending suits
in states across
the nation. So apparently Miss Cleo's given name is Youree Harris, and she's from Bronx,
NY, not Jamaica.  Are these superficial lies enough to destroy her
credibility?  How is it that she had any in the first place? If ARS
is able to make $400 million a year in this business and fight and/or settle
lawsuits in a dozen states, how will this revelation damage them? Their
business practices are certainly not ethical, but they are also obviously not
illegal enough to get them shut down. But so what if Miss Cleo is nothing but a character?  So are: Betty
Crocker
, Aunt
Jemima
, Ronald McDonald,
and the Marlboro Man.
Can you really make the argument that what Miss Cleo does to people's lives is
any more dangerous than cheeseburgers and cigarettes?"

Aside from booze, women and computers, one of my interests in life has always been astronomy. A few weeks ago, I decided to get the ol' 4.5" reflecting scope out in the backyard and show my friends what Saturn looks like. Problem was, I had already been into the rum and ended up dropping all the screws to the telescope tri-pod in the grass. So much for using the telescope, however thanks to the Astonomy Pic of the Day...well at least there's always something nice to look at.

In light of last weeks release of the GeForce 4 card, I thought I'd post this little gem. Apperantly, the review doesn't have too many nice things to say about this over-hyped, under perfoming video card. The article can be found here.

This time next week, Louisville's finest computer technicians will be sporting new Elite Computers shirts. Complete with new logo (which hasn't made it to the website yet). Visitors are welcome to come in and guess what Gordon had for lunch by examining the stains on his shirt. Don't get to close though. He bites and he hasn't had his shots.

Here's something that you might find useful if you use Google as much as me. This link posted here will install the Google search engine at the top of your Internet Explorer. Can be handy when you're in a pinch to get the info you need.

Web Log Experiment. If posting or yapping is your thing, let it rip. Easy to get a Blog account and post. Just for the heck of it, Im posting a link to Tom's Hardware . Still in early phases, but go to Tom's and try to learn something useful. Either that, or go to Dark Magesty to see some of the latest news from Dereth. Playing around with the layout of the page also.
