I dont know about anyone else but I HATE it when people try to sing along to songs and dont know the lyrics.

So heres a good link for finding just about any song lyric. You now no longer have an excuse for sounding stupid when jamming to the radio on the ride to work.

Everyone sing along

Yes, it's a real coded language used by many nostalgic hackers and online gamers. Back in the old days of the internet, users thought the government was scanning all conversations and articles, so they invented leet speak, a strange little language that substitutes letters with numbers. Leet also uses XX0r or X0r in place of "ck". Therefore, the word "hack" becomes "H4XX0r". So if you want to learn about or how to speak leet, h3r3'5 4 guid3 70 g37 j00 57ar73d.

Maybe one day, you too can become a 1337 dud3 7h47 r0X0r j00 like me.

Heya Charlie!
I found a site with some resources that may help you. Seems like there's several different ways of making secure networks. I'll keep looking, but here is a good place to start.

A very good blogged news site.

Getting served through your email? Wild.

Asteroid nearly misses Earth! What did you say? Wouldn't we see that coming?
An asteroid missed us by a mere 288,000 miles a couple weeks ago and no one saw it coming (or going, for that matter) until 4 days after it passed. Basically, anything coming from the direction of the sun falls within our "blind spot". 288K miles is only about 1.2 times the distance to the moon. That does NOT make me feel too comfortable. The government is busy funding research to find out if farting cows warm the atmosphere....you'd think they could send a couple of cameras up in that solar blind spot to prevent a possible extincion event. Sheesh. Check that story here.

3-D Graphics and animation. A world that is unreachable to most of us. 3-D modeling software costs several hundred dollars and is usually much tougher to learn than the average graphics software. Now you can learn Maya for FREE. Maya is an industry standard in 3D animation and modeling. It was used in Shrek and Ice Age and it is available for free download here. It is a FULL version, other than the watermark and the fact that you can't swap files between it and the purchased version. On the download site, you will also find several tutorials and lessons that will help you learn whats going on with the sweet free download.

Shamelessly ripped from Camworld

FlashMX: While everyone was sleeping, Macromedia released FlashMX, their new player that is being billed as a "replacement" for HTML and traditional Web technologies. This is exactly the wrong way to sell this product. During Kevin Lynch's keynote earlier this week at SXSW he failed to address this issue despite Jeff Veen's insistance that Flash needs to be thought of as a component of Web design/development, not the be-all, end-all solution that some Macromedia die-hards are billing it as. So, I don't really have any concern over FlashMX. It's a very cool technology, but I am worried that people will misinterpret it as a web application platform and abandon HTML and other tried-and-true technologies. What this boils down to is that suddenly we're going to find ourselves (again) developing multiple versions of the same site. One in HTML and one in Flash. Unfortunately out clients will not be willing to pay for this and will be forced to choose between Flash and HTML. Sigh...

Wow, and these guys are leading our country... did some say nepotism?

What? Freedom of speech you say? Eh?

Apparently there are some that believe that Shakespeare didn't write his own works... check out this movie.

A new kind of blue-screen-of-death.

Finally, a strike against all of those idiots who think video games cause violence.

Alright, I've evluated TONS of peer 2 peer sharing programs. It's disgusting how many I've looked at. I've finally found one that I really REALLY like. It's called Direct Connect. It's sort of a mixture between Hotline and Kazaa. Except much better. Check it out, I think you'll dig it.

The wars of the future will not be fought with bullets and tanks.

Instead they will be fought with gallons of super slippery gel. Has war turned into a Three Stooges act??? The marines certainly hope so.

Check out the story here.

The Matrix Screensaver .. need I say more?

Spyware...it's probably watching you as you read this RIGHT NOW. You don't even know its in your machine, but it's there. Especially if you recognize any of the following names from clicking around your computer:

Alexa (through 5.0) ; Cydoor ; Flyswat ; Aureate (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) ; Doubleclick ; Expedioware ; Comet Cursor (through 3.0) ; EzUla ; EverAd ; HotBar ; Transponder ; Webhancer ; OnFlow ; Gratisware ; TimeSink (through 5.0) ; Gator ; DSSAgent

These are just a few, but there are many more. So what can you do? You can try downloading Ad-aware. Its a free download that scans your memory, registry, and hard drives for this unwanted crap. Ad-aware then displays a list of detected spyware modules, Registry keys, files, and folders, and allows you to remove them from your system selectively.

Mainstream time...seriously, this is probably the best thing that's come from Shockwave.com in a long time. It's Email Chess and man is it fun...that is, if you're friends are as sharp as mine.

I swear they make this stuff up so they can laugh at us behind our backs when we try to use it...

Good tech humor here....

Intel Vs. IBM? This will be interesting...

This can't be good. Looks like NVIDIA is going to lose a big chunk of its European market with Elsa's recent annoucement:
Yesterday the German ELSA announced its bankruptcy and the court of Aahen appointed supervisors to put up the company’s assets, intellectual property and storage stocks for sale. This happened after ELSA had failed to find common language with the creditors to whom the company owned 38 millions euro, neither had it found a new investor.

ELSA still has some interesting things that may attract many graphics chip and card makers. First of all, ELSA was the only manufacturer of professional graphics cards based on Quadro series from NVIDIA. Then, ELSA has a number of unique innovations in drivers for graphics cards of this class. Secondly, ELSA is a widely promoted brand in Europe and it can be of interest for American companies that want to enter the European market.
